Over the counter fat burners are very popular. Most of these over the counter fat burners suppresses a person’s appetite. Fat burners contain herbs. Most people feel that herbs are natural and therefore cannot pose any harm. We need to be careful with herbs as well. Herbs have side effects similar to pharmaceutical medications. There are certain medications you should avoid while taking herbs. Some fat burners act as a diuretic. However, the weight loss occurs because of the fluid that is removed from the body. The weight loss is not permanent.

You should not take herbal fat burners or any other herbal medicine if you are pregnant, nursing, or if you are taking medication for a serious medical condition. Please check with your doctor before taking an herbal fat burner. It is essential that you inform your doctor of any herbs, medicine, etc that you take. Green tea is considered a supplement that can burn fat and increase weight loss. You may not see dramatic results, but it is good at maintaining weight. Some people choose to take green tea as a supplement while other choose simply to drink the tea. Green tea is considered safe at this point.
